Ancient Architecture serves as inspiration for Guatemalan/ American Furniture company Labrica’s newest line, The Arco Collection, set to debut at New York’s ICFF this month.

The Arco collection was inspired by ancient Spanish Colonial Architecture found throughout Antigua Guatemala. Labrica’s designers played with beautiful elements such as arches, vaults, and cupolas to create the unique pieces that make up the collection.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (May 10, 2018) Business success is often born within a close and passionate family. This was exactly the case when the Velasquez family, Mother Lorena Vásquez and son Ricardo and daughter Lorena, collaborated their artistic and business experience to develop their Labrica furniture company. A company where Ricardo and business partner, Cesar Conde’s design experience and daughter Lorena’s entrepreneurship created a flourishing company that not only makes beautiful furniture, but also elevates the overall status of Guatemala changing the lives of their employees; all while doing their part to run the company with a sustainable mission of replacing the trees they use for their furnture.

Labrica’s designs have been rooted in the history of this Guatemalan family and have typically been inspired by the ancient art of traditional woodworking while working in some playful elements of childhood wonder such as popular toys and clothing elements. Their holistic design approach has caught the attention and partnerships of major distributors such as 1stdibs, WorkOf and Room&Board and has brought in many accolades in the country of Guatemala.

Labrica will be presenting their new collection for the second year in a row at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York City. Entering its 30th year of production, ICFF, is the global platform for luxury international design. ICFF hosts more than 800 international exhibitors, drawing a crowd of over 36,000 design industry peers in the residential, retail, commercial and hospitality sectors. Designers, architects and developers gather to view the finest and closely curated design selections from around the globe.

“Out of all of our designs this collection is one of our favorties.”
Ricardo Valesquez and Cesar Conde
